The New England Patriots dominated the New York Jets 45-3 the last time the two teams met which may have something to do with the Patriots nine point line over the Jets for this weekend's divisional matchup game in Foxboro. The Patriots are nine point favorites which is a very large line for this point in the season.
NFL Playoff Odds: Patriots Open As 9 Point Favorites Over Jets
The Patriots, though, have earned it. They went 14-2 in the regular season losing just one more game after their Week 2 loss to those Jets. They’re one of the best offenses in the NFL and the defense has been timely all year. The Patriots are doing a lot of things right.
But it's hard to discount the Jets at this point. They went into Indianapolis and beat the Colts with Mark Sanchez driving down the field to set them up for the game winning field goal. If Sanchez plays well, this game will be closer than that nine point line.
The NFL playoff schedule has this as the last game played next weekend on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC. This may be the most anticipated matchup of the playoffs so it’s fitting that they save it for the last game.
