The New York Jets have taken their first lead of their divisional round matchup against the New England Patriots, with QB Mark Sanchez throwing a seven-yard touchdown pass to RB LaDainian Tomlinson. Sanchez is hanging with Pats QB Tom Brady, completing six of his 10 passes for 70 yards and no interceptions. He’s looked confident and crisp in a high-pressure game.
LaDainian Tomlinson, Mark Sanchez Give Jets Lead Over Patriots
Tomlinson has 18 yards on five touches, with a 37-yard catch by WR Braylon Edwards the biggest play of the game so far and the event that set up New York’s touchdown. The scoring drive went 49 yards in five plays.
Briefly benched New England WR Wes Welker still has only one catch, with Danny Woodhead and Alge Crumpler each contributing 37 yards for the Pats. This means our top three offensive producers are sitting at 37 yards.
Good things continue for the Jets, with New England forced to punt on the next drive.
