Leslie Frazier Reportedly Set To Coach Minnesota Vikings In 2011

A report from Judd Zulgad of The Star-Tribune indicates that the Minnesota Vikings are set to make Leslie Frazier their permanent head coach heading into the 2011 NFL season. According to the report, an announcement is expected Monday or Tuesday to officially announce the decision.

The Vikings were defeated by the Detroit Lions 20-13 in their 2010 season finale, and after the game, Frazier was non-committal about his future with the club.

Said Frazier: “I’m going to get together with our ownership either tonight or tomorrow and find out where we’re headed. Nothing has been solidified but we’re going talk further.”

Frazier took over as Minnesota’s head coach when the team fired Brad Childress after the team went 3-7 in its first ten games. In the six games since Frazier took over, the Vikings went 3-3, but were 1-3 in their final four games as they dealt with a rash of injuries, particularly at the quarterback position. Minnesota finished 6-10 on the season.
