The Atlanta Falcons lost to the Green Bay Packers last week and now this week they’re losing a member of their coaching staff. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Bill Musgrave has agreed to join the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff as offensive coordinator.
Bill Musgrave Will Be Offensive Coordinator For Vikings, Not Browns
The news comes as a surprise because NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported on Wednesday that Musgrave was expected to take the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator job.
Musgrave has been the Falcons quarterbacks coach since 2006 working with Matt Ryan.
The Vikings are probably hoping Musgrave can help do to whoever the next Vikings quarterback will be what he did to Matt Ryan, who has developed into one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Musgrave’s role could be important as the Vikings potentially look to the draft to add a quarterback.
Musgrave joins Leslie Frazier’s staff in Minnesota that just this week added former 49ers head coach Mike Singletary as linebacker coach.
