This could be bad news for the Hurricanes because Stafford has seven goals and one assist, including two hat tricks, in games right after an absence in the lineup. Ryan Miller got the night off against the Senators so he will start in net for the Sabres.
For the Hurricanes, Jamie McBain will be out of the lineup for the Hurricanes for the next three to four weeks as he suffered a shoulder injury against the Washington Capitals on Friday. The Hurricanes are 0-3-1 in their last four games that has seen them fall down the Eastern Conference standings.
