Neither team could convert on their powerplay chances, the Hurricanes had five while the Sabres had three. Both teams had a handful of shots on the powerplay but the goaltenders really dictated this game and stymied both offenses.
The Sabres will face the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday night at home while the Carolina Hurricanes will travel to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.
