Before Saturday’s semifinal match in Monte Carlo, Andy Murray’s elbow required a cortisone injection. He said he felt like it was bruised. His elbow began to hurt during his Friday match against Frederico Gil. The pain subsided during Murray’s warm-up for his match against Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

The Brit went on to lose to Nadal, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 -- even after stopping the match to receive treatment. Murray said he doesn’t think the injury is serious.
“When you do have an injury, it’s sometimes difficult to concentrate,” said the 23-year-old.
”Against someone like him, you need to play every single point, concentrate from every single point to the last.
“You can’t just throw games, hope to hang onto your serve. You need to play every single point to put pressure on him.”
The World No. 4 went through an elbow scan and is awaiting the results, which should be released on Tuesday. Murray still has to make a decision about this weekend’s tournament in Barcelona:
“Whether or not I’ll be able to play this week, I’m not sure. I haven’t hit any balls since Monte Carlo but I’m going to practise (on Tuesday) in the morning and see how it is, and then I’ll make a decision after that.”
