Matt Holliday May Return Friday; Lance Berkman Still Day-To-Day
With St. Louis visiting Kansas City, Holliday could be slotted in at DH, minimizing the exposure to his quad. Manager Tony LaRussa says he won’t “push” either player to return before they’re ready.

X-rays on Berkman’s wrist were negative (which is a good thing), but team doctors are still looking at the injury and there’s no word yet on when he might return to the lineup.
Holliday’s reportedly available for pinch-hitting duties Thursday afternoon, while Berkman’s not expected to play at all.
