Jimmy Rollins Back In Phillies’ Lineup

After fouling a pitch off his knee on Saturday, Jimmy Rollins had to deal with swelling and pain. If there's a good way to describe it, it would be that it felt like he a hard, spherical object made from leather, cork, and a hard rubber center had caromed off his knee with great force, if you can imagine. Rollins was diagnosed with a deep bone bruise, and there was still a chance he'd go on the disabled list.

So it’s a little surprising to read this, from MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki:

Tonight’s lineup vs. CHI: Rollins SS, Polanco 3B, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Victorino CF, Ibanez LF, Brown RF, Sardinha C, Kendrick P.

It looks like Rollins will play through the pain if there's no chance that he can somehow aggravate the injury by doing so. Considering that the other option is to play Wilson Valdez, a slightly gimpy Rollins is probably a better option for the Phillies.
