Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has its sights set on staging a major pay-per-view (PPV) event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 29, 2011.
UFC 137 Fight Card: PPV Event Planned For Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Oct. 29
The promotion has already confirmed that a welterweight showdown between its champion, Georges St. Pierre, and Strikeforce 170-pound kingpin, Nick Diaz, will serve as the main event of the evening.
Additional UFC 137 fight card updates are now beginning to trickle out, including a possible co main event that features former welterweight and lightweight champion, B.J. Penn, challenging former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) superstar, Carlos Condit.
Two heavyweight clashes -- Mirko Filipovic vs. Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione vs. Cheick Kongo -- are also under consideration.
