Mr. Ryan is resting comfortably and reports he is feeling better. He is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days.
Ryan is the all-time leader in strikeouts with 5714, and he was a first-ballot selection for the Hall of Fame in 1999. He's also the only player to have his number retired by three separate teams: the Rangers, the Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Angels.
