Jon Lester Injury: On Track For Return Next Monday
Jon Lester threw a side session in the bullpen prior to Wednesday's rubber game at Camden Yards in preparation for his start against the Royals on Monday.
Lester hasn't pitched since July 5 because of a strained left latissimus.
Lester hasn't pitched for the Red Sox since departing his July 5 start with a lat strain. The Sox have somehow held on to first place without Lester and Clay Buchholz in the rotation -- and with Tim Wakefield, Andrew Miller and rookie Kyle Weiland -- but that's not sustainable and everyone in the Nation will breathe a bit easier upon Lester's return.
Buchholz isn’t coming back soon, but his rehab is progressing, and there’s still some chance the Red Sox will have their top four starters in good order for the big tournament in October.
