Reactions To Kerry Collins’ Retirement Are Mixed

QB Kerry Collins has decided to call it quits and retire from the NFL after 16 seasons and five teams. He's been a solid quarterback for much of his career completing nearly 56 percent of his passes and throwing for over 40,000 yards. In fact, he's just one of 12 quarterbacks to throw for over 40,000 yards in the NFL. Any quarterback who can stay in the league for that long is doing something right.

That said, the reaction from Tennessee Titans on Collins' retirement decision have been mixed. Here's a sample of what some fans have been saying on SB Nation's Music City Miracles:

I'm glad KC isn't coming back this year, but that being said...I'm not going to celebrate his exit. The guy did some good things in Nashville. That 2008 season reminded me why I'm a Titans fan.

We are a worse football team right now without Kerry Collins. I hope the FO has a plan to get a veteran quarterback.

Collins' 2010 season wasn't his best as he went just 2-5 as a starter and threw 14 touchdowns to eight interceptions so it's understandable that some fans want to move on from him. Of course, it's only understandable if the Titans are able to find a veteran (such as QB Matt Hasselbeck) to plug in while rookie QB Jake Locker gets his legs under him.
