On Monday afternoon, Texas safety Christian Scott was arrested on the mysterious charge of "assault with bodily harm," with no further details available. Head coach Mack Brown suspended Scott indefinitely, expressing disappointment in his mistakes a short time after work broke. But what did Scott do to end up behind bars and suspended from the Texas football program?
Christian Scott’s Arrest For Assault Stemmed Attempted Repossession
The Austin Statesman got its hands on the arrest warrant and the details involve a failed repossession and an alleged assault of a woman.
Scott, whom Doyle said she recognized from a previous repossession of Scott’s Cadillac last year, got out of the Mustang and began yelling profanities at her, according to the report. Doyle told police that Scott pulled her from the Cadillac and threw her to the ground.
Scott then fled in the Cadillac, according to the affidavit. He was arrested at a nearby gas station.
Being “recognized from a previous repossession” is never a good thing. Scott is still suspended from all activities as the Longhorns prepare for their 2011 campaign.
