Tiger Woods’ Steve Williams Comments Show No Hard Feelings

Tiger Woods and Steve Williams have a bit of a rivalry going. The former fired the latter and then the latter caddied for Adam Scott as he won the 2011 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational before taking all of the credit for the victory while claiming it was better than any championship he’d won while caddying for Woods.

All in all, it was a pretty sordid affair that isn’t exactly typical in the world of the gentleman’s game of golf.

Fortunately, the two sides seem to now be on amicable terms. Following Williams’ apology on the caddy’s blog Tuesday evening, Woods made no mention of any sort of ill will he held for his former caddy while talking to the Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman.

“I was happy to see Stevie & Adam win,” Woods said. “I sent Stevie a nice text congratulating him on his win.”

Woods later mentioned that he was surprised by Williams’ comments, but you know, that makes sense because everybody in the world was surprised by Williams’ comments -- including, it seems, the caddy himself.
