Italy Vs. Spain, 2011 Friendly: 1-1 At Halftime Despite Italy Dominating

Italy-Spain hasn't been too bad so far, although it's a bit of a mystery as to how the hosts aren't winning 30 or something. Italy have been in almost total control all half, and they nabbed a deserved lead when Riccardo Montolivo's clever run was found by an equally clever Domenico Criscito pass, releasing the midfielder past a confused-looking* Gerard Pique. Montolivo still had Iker Casillas to beat, and he did so with a deft chip that left the Barcelona keeper utterly helpless.

Things didn't get much better for Spain in the immediate aftermath. Fernando Torres was hauled off in the 15th minute after signalling to the bench that he couldn't continue, something that'll undoubtedly vex Chelsea FC fans. Fernando Llorente replaced him, and after a couple of dozon minutes of Italian dominance, the Atletic Bilbao striker had somehow won a penalty by falling over in the area. Xabi Alonso converted, and the game is now level at 1-1. That score is by no means reflective of the game to date - Italy have been very, very good.
