Philadelphia Union Vs. FC Dallas: Wild First Half Sees Dallas Up 2-1
Dallas got things started early with newcomer Maicon Santos. The Brazilian got a gift after the Union's Carlos Valdes overshot a Zach Loyd throw-in back to keeper Faryd Mondragon, who misplayed the ball and Santos was there to finsih the play.
Philadelphia got back into the game later on in the first half with a penalty kick from Sebastien Le Toux. Dallas' Ugo Ihemelu brought down Justin Mapp in the box. Le Toux muscled out Freddy Adu for the attempt and his shot just sailed past Kevin Hartman.
The Toros got the lead back right before the half as Santos and Marvin Chavez hooked up in a counter attack. Santos played Chavez into the box where he beat Mondragon, but his shot hit the post, luckily for Dallas Brek Shea was there to finish the play and give Dallas the lead going into the break.
