The Goodman League vs. Drew League exhibition, scheduled for August 20 in Washington D.C., was already a highly-anticipated event with stars like Kevin Durant, John Wall, Brandon Jennings and DeMarcus Cousins scheduled to play. It could end up being even bigger, though, because Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant could be joining the Drew League team.
Kobe Bryant May Play In Goodman League Vs. Drew League Exhibition
Drew League commissioner Dino Smiley told Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports that he has asked Bryant to play in the game, and Bryant is considering it.
“We asked Kobe and he smiled at it, but he didn’t commit,” Smiley told Yahoo! Sports. “But if he comes, we will have a uniform waiting for him to represent Los Angeles - not D.C. Who knows? He likes drama and maybe he’ll show up to play for the Drew League.
If Bryant indeed plays, he would join Derrick Williams, Jennings, JaVale McGee, DeMar DeRozan and others on the Drew League team. Durant, Wall and Cousins lead the Goodman League squad.
