Raiders Seem Intent On Retaining Zach Miller

Assuming Greg Pappa has some pretty decent insight into the team which employs him, it would seem that the Oakland Raiders are pretty intent on retaining the services of tight end Zach Miller. The Raiders radio announcer told Bay Area radio station 95.7 FM that "Zach Miller will be back with the Raiders" and that a deal could be announced as soon as Tuesday.

Miller, a free agent, was in Seattle on Monday visiting with the Seahawks where his former coach Tom Cable is currently an assistant. With the Raiders having just re-worked linebacker Kamerion Wimbley's contract to get under the salary cap, it would appear bringing back Miller is on the top of the to-do list.

Said Pappa: “Al Davis didn’t just give Kamerion Wimbley $29 million to lose Zach Miller to Tom Cable.”

Miller is coming off a third straight solid year in which he has established himself as one of the league’s best tight ends. Last year, he earned his first Pro Bowl selection after 60 passes for 685 yards and scoring five touchdowns.
