ESPN's Mark Schlereth reports that Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn will be the team's No. 2 quarterback in tonight's preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, dropping 2010 first-round pick Tim Tebow to No. 3.
Brady Quinn Passes Tim Tebow On Denver Broncos Depth Chart, According To Report
During an appearance on the 6pm EST SportsCenter, Schlereth, who played for the Broncos and lives and works in Denver, added that the change in the team’s quarterback depth chart is related to Tebow’s “inaccuracies and issues he’s had over the last few weeks”.
Acquired from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for running back Peyton Hillis and a pair of future draft picks, Quinn did not play a down for the Broncos last season. The 2007 first-round pick out of Notre Dame completed 8-of-14 pass attempts for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Thursday.
Tebow, the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, opened up training camp as the No. 2 quarterback behind Kyle Orton, who remains "head and shoulders" above the pair of former first-round quarterbacks the Broncos have on their roster.
