The Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers played a close game at halftime, as David Akers' 23-yard field goal in the second quarter had the score at 3-0. Alex Smith led the 49ers to that field goal on an 11-play, 90-yard drive. Smith went 8-of-13 for 126 yards and an interception.
Raiders Vs. 49ers Score: Kendall Hunter’s 53-Yard Touchdown Run Puts 49ers Up, 10-0
Rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick started under center for the second half and threw a 12-yard completion to start his night. Fellow rookie Kendall Hunter rushed the ball 53 yards for the first touchdown of the game, but Anthony Dixon did pick up 53 yards on 12 carries in the first half.
For the Raiders, Jason Campbell completed 5-of-7 passes for 74 yards. Trent Edwards, though, threw an interception late in the second quarter, but the 49ers were unable to take advantage of it with only seconds left on the clock.
