The running game was clicking for the Houston Texans on Saturday night, leading to a 27-14 win over the New Orleans Saints. All three Houston touchdowns came on the ground as the Texans jumped out to an early lead and raced away from the Saints for the easy win. Arian Foster and Ben Tate were a formidable bunch, showing they could be a force this coming season.

Foster finished with a team-leading two touchdowns, carrying the ball five times for 47 yards. Tate rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on nine carries to lead all rushers. Andre Johnson was outstanding as usual, catching four passes for 100 yards in the win. Matt Schaub completed 12 of 16 passes for 163 yards.
Drew Brees completed just half his passes, 7-14, while throwing for 109 yards. Chase Daniel completed six of 14 passes for 127 yards, one touchdown and an interception in a backup role. Pierre Thomas led the Saints on the ground with 33 yards on six carries. Joseph Morgan caught just one pass but made it count, finding the end zone on a 56-yard touchdown reception.
