The San Diego Chargers lost wide receiver Malcom Floyd to a concussion during the second quarter of Sunday's preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. His head slammed into the ground at the end of a reception, which left him on the ground for a little while.
Malcom Floyd Injury: San Diego Chargers Wide Receiver Leaves Game With Concussion
That reception, an 18-yarder, was the only one of the game for Floyd. No additional details have been released, but Floyd will miss a few days of practice until he is able to clear the necessary post-concussion syndrome tests.
Floyd is no more than the third receiving option for Philip Rivers, as Vincent Jackson is not holding out this season and Antonio Gates is, as always, a dynamic threat on the field. Still, Floyd picked up some of the slack from Jackson's absence during the 2011 season and decided to remain with the Chargers during the free agent period.
