San Francisco 49ers Trade Taylor Mays To Cincinnati Bengals, According To Report

After quite a search that at one point involved emailing every NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers have found a trade partner for safety Taylor Mays, according to Adam Schefter. The Cincinnati Bengals it is, for an undisclosed draft pick.

Niners Nation isn't too worked up about losing Mays, who faced a likely cut at the end of training camp anyway. The Chicago Bears had also reportedly gotten involved and made an offer for Mays, but that fell through. Isn't that the most obvious thing you've read all day? Of course it fell through. He was just traded to the Bengals.

Cincy Jungle foresees Mays joining a crowded position battle, while noting he's the second safety this offseason to travel between San Francisco and Cincinnati. Donte Whitner at one point or another was linked to the two franchises before eventually settling with the Niners.
