Bears Vs. Giants: Jay Cutler Stays Clean In Monday Night Football Loss

The Chicago Bears were throttled by the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, 41-13, and it's hard to find the good in this game for Chicago. The first teams played much of the first half and the Bears were down 20-6 in that time so that's the score that really matters.

SB Nation’s Bears blog, Windy City Gridiron, says that there was at least one good thing to come out of this game.

Pass protection was actually... not awful. Cutler did a decent job moving around the pocket and his refusal to chuck the ball away led to the line’s only sack allowed in the game.

This is pretty huge for Chicago if it’s a sign that their line is getting better. That was their biggest downfall last year as Cutler was thrown around by the opposing defense for much of the season. If the Bears improved their pass protection in this game, consider it a small success.

It’s hard to find many other positives after that for Chicago. When you lose by four touchdowns, the score is usually indicative of your team’s performance and there’s not much to be happy with.

Check out Windy City Gridiron to see how Bears fans are coping with the loss.
