After the game, he complained about problems with his pitching hand and was sent to a local hospital to have it examined.
Sunday morning, the Rays didn’t waste any time sending him to the disabled list, according to Alex Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times:
#Rays put Cobb on 15-day DL due to discomfort in hand (tho team says tests ruled out anything serious), recall LHP Cesar Ramos
Ramos was among four players the Rays acquired from the Padres on December 17, 2010 in exchange for shortstop Jason Bartlett. In duty with the Rays earlier this season, Ramos pitched in 46 games in relief, striking out 21 in 32 innings pitched. He had been sent down after an outing against the Red Sox on July 25. No word on who will replace Cobb in the Rays’ rotation.
