The cattiness between Tiger Woods and his former caddy Steve Williams has escalated in recent days. After being officially fired on July 20, then going on national TV and essentially bashing his former employer, Williams revealed to The Golf Channel’s Jason Sobel that Woods fired him weeks before the July 20 announcement.
Steve Williams Says Tiger Woods Fired Him Weeks Before Announcement
Adam Scott, Williams’ new loop, won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Sunday, which, in case you haven’t heard, was Woods’ first professional tournament in months, and Williams is feeling saucy:
Steve Williams: "I've caddied for 33 years, 145 wins, and this has been the best week of my life."
Williams was apparently interviewed before Scott after the win, a rarity in golf, and is clearly enjoying the enhanced attention of being the latest individual to pile on Woods. Not everyone is enjoying the Stevie Williams coming out party, though:
Still deciding who I like less: tiger woods or his arrogant ingrate of an ex caddy. #toughcall
You can’t win ‘em all, Stevie.
