His injury proved disastrous last season, with the Wildcats going 0-3 with Persa out of the lineup. Northwestern created a website, PersaStrong, to promote Persa as a darkhorse Heisman candidate.
Colter has yet to throw a pass for his college career. Northwestern has hopes of making some noise in the Big Ten this season, but without Persa that task will be daunting.
