Coby Fleener Won’t Run At 2012 NFL Combine, According To Report

Coby Fleener may be the top-rated tight end heading into the 2012 NFL Draft, but it doesn't look like scouts will get a chance to bolster that opinion during this week's Scouting Combine. The 6-foot-6, 244-pounder won't work out at the combine because of a high ankle sprain (via CBS Sports). Scouts won't get a chance to see Fleener until Stanford's Pro Day on March 22.

The good news for Fleener is that there should be plenty of scouts there. Also expected to work out that day are Andrew Luck, who's expected to be the No. 1 pick in the draft, and a pair of likely first-round offensive lineman (David DeCastro and Jonathan Martin).

Fleener suffered the injury during Stanford’s loss to Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. The report suggests Fleener has recovered from that injury but does not feel as though he’s had enough time to properly showcase himself at the combine. He will be there to go through medical tests and interviews.
