The NFL Combine always features a couple of players from smaller programs who scouts and media want to see officially work out, to re-affirm their "sleeper" and "fast-rising" labels. One of those players in the 2012 NFL Draft is Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner. Unfortunately for Wagner, he's going to have to wait until his Pro Day to impress NFL teams. Wagner will miss the 2012 NFL Combine because he's in the hospital with a case of pneumonia, according to a report by FOX Sports.
NFL Combine 2012: Bobby Wagner Out Due To Pneumonia
Utah State inside linebacker Bobby Wagner was hospitalized Monday in Arizona with pneumonia, a source told FOXSports.com. Agent Kenny Zuckerman said Wagner was not cleared to travel to Indianapolis but that he will be discharged by the weekend and fully recovered within the next few weeks.
Wagner was considered a fast-riser in the draft by many in part because of his fantastic week at the Senior Bowl which Wagner capped off with a seven-tackle, one-interception performance in the game.
