Week 6 NFL picks: Packers vs. Texans

Experts are split on this week’s primetime game between Green Bay and Houston.

Already reeling from a stunning Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the 2-3 Green Bay Packers face the toughest test of their season to date Sunday night: a trip to Houston to face the undefeated Texans.

The Packers had been a preseason favorite in the NFC, but were on the wrong end of a notoriously bad touchdown call in Seattle and the first Andrew Luck comeback in Indianapolis and are now fighting to remain in playoff contention. Making matters worse, running back Cedric Benson was injured in last week's game and has been placed on injured reserve. The Packer offense will have to rely more than ever on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whose production has decreased slightly this season.

On the other hand, the Texans are riding high in the saddle, with five wins in the season's first five weeks. Matt Schaub and Arian Foster have the Houston offense scoring 29.8 points per game, good enough for third in the league. Not all is well at Reliant Stadium, though: Linebacker and defensive team leader Brian Cushing was lost for the season with a torn ACL last week.

Despite the diverging trend lines for these two squads, experts are decidedly split on who will win Sunday night. At ESPN, all but two experts -- Ron Jaworski and Keyshawn Johnson -- choose Houston. At CBS Sports, six of eight experts pick Green Bay to prevail. Experts at Yahoo and NFL.com are almost evenly split. It seems like nobody knows what to expect from an intriguing Sunday Night Football matchup.
