Colts vs. Jets game recap: Sanchez, Greene lead New York to 35-9 victory

Shonn Greene ran for three touchdowns and Mark Sanchez threw for two more scores as the New York Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9. Rookie QB Andrew Luck and the Colts offense did not find the end zone, settling for three field goals.

The New York Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Three rushing touchdowns from Shonn Greene and two through the air by Mark Sanchez were plenty for the Jets as their defense kept Andrew Luck and the Colts' offense out the the end zone.

Greene carried the ball 32 times for 161 yards and those three touchdowns. After Luck threw his second interception of the game with Greene’s 2-yard score with 1:18 left in the game closed the door on any chance of an Indianapolis comeback.

Luck finished the game 22-of-44 passing for 280 yards while throwing two interceptions and fumbling once.

Sanchez managed the Jets' offense, completing 11 passes for 82 yards and two scores. Tim Tebow completed his only pass on a fake punt, completing for 23 yards and setting up a Jets touchdown.

Securing the ball was key for New York as they did not commit a single turnover, compared with five Colts giveaways.

With the Colts unable to find the end zone, kicker Adam Vinatieri had all 9 of Indianapolis' points. Vinatieri hit all field goal attempts of 20, 50 and 47 yards.

The Jets are now 3-3 while the Colts fall to 2-3.

Fantasy studs/duds: Any fantasy owners starting Shonn Greene were rewarded as the New York running back broke out for 161 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries. Mark Sanchez had a solid day in the Jets’ offense, throwing for only 82 yards, but hitting two passing touchdowns. Andrew Luck had 280 yards passing, but his two interceptions and a fumble will hurt his fantasy score. For everything fantasy football related, visit SB Nation’s dedicated fantasy page.

Odds/Gambling: The Jets came into the game as a 3-point favorite and easily covered that spread with their offensive outburst. For more odds and betting lines around the league, be sure to check out SB Nation’s NFL Odds page.

Injury info: Both the Colts and the Jets made it through the game without sustaining any serious injuries.

Next team on the schedule: The Colts will go home to host the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 21. The Jets will go on the road to face the New England Patriots at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 21.
