Arkansas State has given itself a commanding lead over Louisiana Lafayette at the break, 26-7. Ryan Aplin has thrown for 244 yards and a touchdown on only 28 attempts, while ULL has been unable to get much other than a couple of big passes from Terrance Broadway to Darryl Surgent and Javone Lawson.
Arkansas State vs. UL Lafayette score: Ryan Aplin guns Wolves to another big lead
The winner of this one will have three Sun Belt wins and move within a single victory of bowl eligibility, thereby narrowing down one of the most interesting conference title races in the country. Each has yet to play front-runner UL Monroe, which famously knocked off Arkansas and nearly Baylor and Auburn as well.
Last year, ASU raced out to a 17-0 lead on ULL before the Cajuns took the lead in the third quarter. The Red Wolves eventually won, but I’m just sayin’, she ain’t over yet. ULL averages 35.5 points per game, and all.
