Sean Mannion injury: Oregon State analysts, fans react

The left knee injury suffered by Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion on Saturday against the Washington Huskies has generated plenty of buzz around the Pac-12. The injury was at first not believed to be serious, but when an MRI showed damage, it was determined that Mannion would require surgery.

The folks over at Addicted to Quack put their loyalty to the Oregon Ducks aside and tweeted out genuine concern for Mannion. As they mentioned via social media, it will be interesting to see what redshirt junior Cody Vaz can do under center as he takes over.

SB Nation’s Pac-12 blog, Pacific Takes, also weighed in on Twitter: “Yeah, this is not the week Oregon State wants to lose Sean Mannion.”

It’s a devastating blow to a Beavers team that had plenty of momentum after a 19-6 win over Washington. They are 4-0 and lead the Pac-12 Conference in the standings. They will next face BYU on Oct. 13 on the road.
