Browns vs. Raiders, Week 13: Slow start in loss disgruntles Oakland fans

The Oakland Raiders came up short in a loss to the Cleveland Browns in a battle of 3-8 teams.

It took the Oakland Raiders nearly three quarters to find the end zone for their first touchdown as the offense had trouble gaining rhythm in the first half. In the end, it wasn't enough as the Raiders fell 20-17 to the Cleveland Browns at home on Sunday afternoon.

Aside from a long touchdown and garbage-time score, Oakland had trouble finishing off drives. Offensive struggles have become all too familiar for Silver And Black Pride:

The Raiders couldn’t get anything going in the first half. Slow starts have become the norm with this team. The Browns have a pretty good defense as well but as usual it was more about the Raiders failings than anything the opposition was doing.

In the ground game, the Raiders gained 5.0 yards per carry but couldn't run enough to be fully effective. Quarterback Carson Palmer attempted 54 passes for 351 yards and connected often with tight end Brandon Myers, who caught 14 of his 15 targets for 130 yards and a late-game score.

On defense, Oakland allowed 475 yards but had a bend-but-don’t-break philosophy, forcing two turnovers and holding the Browns to 1-of-3 in the red zone. The offense just wasn’t able to match.

The Raiders have now lost five-straight and failed to score over 17 points in three consecutive contests.
