Matt Kemp Runs Into Outfield Fence, Hurts Neck

Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp left Tuesday’s game after colliding with the center-field fence in the first inning.

It's not a good day for superstars and collisions. Less than an hour ofter Yadier Molina left the Cardinals/Pirates game following a home-plate collision, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp ran into the center-field wall at Coors Field at full speed.

With a 2-1 count, Rockies infielder Josh Rutledge hit a booming ball out to center field.

Kemp was down for several minutes as manager Don Mattingly and trainer Sue Falsone attended to him. He would eventually get up and stay in the game for two more batters, but he left the game before the end of the inning. Juan Rivera entered the game in left field, and Shane Victorino shifted to center.

Rutledge legged out a triple, and he would later score on a Jordan Pacheco double.

Kemp has missed time with two separate disabled-list stints this season related to hamstring problems.
