Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp left Tuesday’s game after colliding with the center-field fence in the first inning.
Kemp has shoulder surgery to repair torn labrum

Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE - PresswireThe procedure lasted 60 minutes according to the team’s press release with team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache also focusing on “some minor debridement of the rotator cuff.” Kemp will begin physical therapy in 7-10 days and should be back to swinging a bat by the time January rolls around.
While Kemp should be good to go for the 2013 season, this surgery will likely keep him from playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic next spring.

PresswireHe was taken to a local hospital for evaluations, where he was expected to undergo an MRI on his knee and a CAT scan on his jaw. The good news is that Kemp has not been diagnosed with a concussion, but manager Don Mattingly doesn’t expect the outfielder will be available Wednesday. From MLB.com:
The knee contusion is not expected to be serious at this time, although the full extent of the damage will not be known until the MRI results come back.
