AFC East rivals square off in Week 1 as the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in an important litmus test for both teams right off the bat.

The Jets have spent most of the offseason directly in the eye of a media storm following their trade for quarterback Tim Tebow. Coach Rex Ryan has stated time and again, however, that Mark Sanchez is the starting quarterback and that there isn't a quarterback controversy brewing in the Big Apple.

Tebow is expected to unveil New York’s version of the Wildcat offense, the specifics of which have been kept under wraps by the team throughout the offseason.

Buffalo will look for another strong start to the regular season after beginning the 2011 campaign 5-2 before dropping eight of their last nine regular-season games. The signings of former No. 1 pick Mario Williams and defensive end Mark Anderson in the offseason figure to bolster the defense as a whole.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and receiver Stevie Johnson return to lead an offense that also sputtered towards last season's end after a promising start.

The current line, courtesy of OddsShark, has the Jets favored by 2.5 points. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium, and the game can be seen on CBS.
