Titans rumors: Andy Levitre draws Tennessee interest

The Tennessee Titans may try to upgrade their offensive line by signing Andy Levitre.

The Tennessee Titans are interested in signing offensive guard Andy Levitre, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King. Levitre is set to become a free agent Tuesday.

Music City Miracles: Tracking the Titans in free agency

Levitre, a four-year veteran out of Oregon State, has played his entire professional career with the Buffalo Bills, who selected him with the 51st-overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He immediately won a first-string job in Buffalo and has started all 64 games over the last four seasons. After his solid debut season in '09, he was named to the All-Rookie team.

The Titans could use some help along the O-line, especially on the inside. Tennessee allowed 39 sacks in 2012, which ranked 21st in the NFL, and the team’s 16 negative run plays up the middle tied for fourth-most in the league. Levitre would certainly help in pass protection, as Pro Football Focus graded his pass-blocking efficiency at 98.5 in 2012, tops in the league. PFF rates him as the No. 2 interior lineman available in free agency.

The Titans have roughly $19 million available and plan to make an early run at Levitre, per King’s report. The guard is coming off a four-year, $3.56 million rookie deal with the Bills, and he’ll likely fetch a much higher price tag this offseason.
