Carolina rookie running back Kenjon Barner didn’t start off his first NFL game quite the way he wanted, but he bounced back well to rush for 37 yards and a touchdown on nine carries against the Chicago Bears.
Kenjon Barner fumbles, recovers well to help fantasy stock
The Panthers still have a crowded backfield, but Kenjon Barner could earn more playing time if he continues to run well in preseason action.

Barner fumbled on his first touch of the game. The Panthers let him see extensive action despite the turnover, and he looked solid the rest of way, showing some explosive running and adding two receptions for 17 yards to his stat line.
Fantasy impact: The talk out of training camp has been nothing but positive for Barner. With Jonathan Stewart still sidelined as his ankles recover, Barner is No. 2 in line behind DeAngelo Williams.
Given that Williams hasn’t always been a model of good health, it’s not outlandish to think Barner could end up seeing significant playing time in the regular season. His receiving skills boost his value as well. Dynasty league owners will certainly want to keep an eye on him.
