Dunta Robinson will likely miss Chiefs vs. Cowboys, per report

The Chiefs will be out their starting nickelback, Dunta Robinson, in Week 2.

The Chiefs will a bit lighter in the secondary in Week 2's home-opener against the Dallas Cowboys. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, nickelback Dunta Robinson will miss the game due to a personal matter. Robinson's cousin was struck by a vehicle earlier in the week and remains unconscious. Dunta's cousin is currently in the intensive care unit, according to Werder.

Robinson had be listed as questionable with a "non-injury related" designation on the Chief's injury report for Week 2. With the veteran out of the lineup, rookie Marcus Cooper is expected to play in nickel situations. Cooper was a seventh-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in this year's draft. He was waived by the 49ers during final cuts and was claimed off of waivers by the Chiefs just two weeks ago. Third-year player Ron Parker is the other reserve cornerback behind Robinson and starters Brandon Flowers and Sean Smith.

The Chiefs will look to start off the season at 2-0, as they host the Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET in Week 2 on FOX.
