Seattle's 12th Man is legendary. The Seahawks can always count on a raucous crowd to make that much more difficult for opposing offenses. But what happens when the 12th Man comes back to bite the Seahawks, like it did on a first quarter punt?
Fake whistle leads to blocked Seahawks punt
Fan interference led to a blocked Seattle punt.

The Seahawks lined up for a punt on fourth-and-six from the 49ers 49-yard line, their first drive of the game. Both units got lined up, but the 49ers punt return group stayed in its stance, eyes on the snap. And somewhere in the crowd, one of the 12th Men blew a whistle that sounded a lot like the real thing.
Several of the Seattle players heard it, and bit on the fake, so to speak. With players standing up, thinking the refs had stopped play, Seattle snapped the ball. San Francisco had an easy block. Craig Dahl recovered the ball before anyone in blue-green knew what happened.
Pete Carroll heard the fake whistle, but his protestations fell on deaf ears from the refs ... the real refs.
