Russell Okung injury: Seattle LT hurts left foot

The Seahawks are missing their blindside protector following a foot injury to Okung against the 49ers.

The Seahawks may be searching for answers at left tackle, following an injury to Russell Okung in the first quarter of Seattle's Sunday night game against the 49ers. Okung landed awkwardly during the final play of the first quarter when he became tangled with 49ers' defensive end Justin Smith. Here is how it looked:

According to NFL Network's Michelle Beisner, Okung has suffered a "left foot injury" and is considered questionable to return to the game. Okung's backup on the Seahawks' official depth chart is Alvin Bailey, an undrafted rookie out of Arkansas. The Pro Bowler is currently undergoing X-rays on his left foot, according to NBC's Michelle Tofoya during the Sunday Night Football broadcast.

Okung was selected by the Seahawks with the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has missed 11 games over his five-year career, but only missed one game last season.

Update: According to Pro Football Talk, Okung has turf toe, which normally causes players to miss several weeks.
