Giants pitcher starts shouting match after Royals HR

Kansas City takes a big lead, and tempers flare.

In what was a tense game until the sixth inning, the Royals found their offense, putting up five runs on the back of two singles, a walk, a double and a home run. That doesn't mean all the tension was gone, though, as Hunter Strickland's raw display of emotion set off the Royals a bit.

Kansas City drove Jake Peavy from the game with a leadoff single from Lorenzo Cain followed by an Eric Hosmer walk. Bruce Bochy called upon Jean Machi, but Billy Butler was intent on reprising his role from the first inning, where he drove in Cain with a single. Bochy then turned to Javier Lopez to face Alex Gordon, and he got the job done, inducing a flyout. Strickland then came out of the San Francisco bullpen, tossed a wild pitch, and gave up a two-run double to the previously punchless Salvador Perez. He followed that by giving up a home run to the suddenly reanimated Omar Infante.

Jeremy Affeldt became the fifth Giants pitcher of the inning, brought in to face lefty Mike Moustakas. The Moose then roped a single. Affeldt was able to get Alcides Escobar to bounce into an inning-ending double-play.
