A ‘Roll Tide’ and ‘War Eagle’ got into the Giants’ World Series parade

Somehow, Hunter Pence and Tim Hudson managed to get some college football rivalry chants going in the Giants victory parade on Friday.

The San Francisco Giants are still celebrating their latest World Series title after beating the Kansas City Royals in Game 7 to claim their third championship in five seasons. That doesn't mean they're not celebrating this one like it's the first, which is exactly what outfielder Hunter Pence and pitcher Tim Hudson are doing.

Pence came up big in the World Series, registering a hit in every game while scoring seven runs and driving in five runs to help the Giants win the series. As for Hudson, he pitched two games and started in the decisive Game 7 while allowing five earned runs over 7⅓ innings.

Somehow, Pence and Hudson managed to get some college football rivalry chants going in the Giants’ victory parade on Friday. Hudson started it by yelling Auburn’s famed “War Eagle” chant while both players were addressing the crowd.

Pence responded with Alabama’s “Roll Tide” chant as a counter.

Hudson attended Auburn in college, so it’s easy to see why he’s repping his former school, even at a celebration for his current team. As for Pence, he played college ball at UT-Arlington, so it looks like his “Roll Tide” was just a friendly dig at Hudson.
