Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 11: Injuries and potential replacements

The Cardinals and Bears are going in opposite directions, but they each were dealt a tough blow on Sunday. What are the other injuries out there that fantasy owners should be tracking?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

In a week full of teams with byes, we still had a handful of injuries. The Arizona Cardinals' chances to make it to the Super Bowl in their home stadium are significantly smaller as, in a repeat of history, Carson Palmer tore his ACL.

Over the weekend, Palmer signed a $50 million deal with he Cardinals, but he's going to be out for the season. Back in 2005, he tore his ACL just 10 days after signing a $119 million deal. Of course, as a fantasy owner, the Cardinals making the playoffs doesn't have a big impact on your decisions for your roster -- unless you consider the chance of the Cards clinching early, which is unlikely to happen now. Unfortunately, receivers Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald are going to lose a big chunk of their values.

Besides Carson, Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall had a bad injury on Sunday Night Football. His fantasy owners will have to keep an eye on him heading into Week 11.

Here are the other injuries fantasy owners will want to keep an eye on. The older injuries are below the new ones:

Quarterback

Who: Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals
What: Torn ACL in left knee
Impact: Ouch. Drew Stanton will start and we can downgrade the entire Cardinals offense. Stanton is worth a look in two-QB leagues.

Running back

Who: Ronnie Hillman, Denver Broncos
What: Suffered a foot injury on Sunday and has been dealing with a shoulder problem
Impact: C.J. Anderson was terrific on Sunday, but it’s going to be hard to pick him up with Montee Ball close to returning.

Who: Reggie Bush, Detroit Lions
What: Looks to still be dealing with an ankle issue
Impact: Theo Riddick was the hero and there really hasn’t been much of a drop-off without Bush. If he’s not 100 percent, Bush is going to sit. Riddick is worth a look in deep leagues.

Who: Lamar Miller, Miami Dolphins
What: Playing through an AC joint sprain in his shoulder
Impact: He isn’t 100 percent and plays on a Thursday, so Jarvis Landry might be busy in the slot as a receiver. Daniel Thomas is no bueno and Damien Williams will likely get most of the carries. He’s not a top-40 play even if Miller is out.

Who: Peyton Hillis, New York Giants
What: Concussion
Impact: Michael Cox will get some third-down touches, but he’s not a fantasy option.

Wide receivers

Who: Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears
What: Suffered bad ankle sprain, but said he expects to play
Impact: Marquess Wilson might get some extra snaps, but the bigger impact is that Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte will be monsters.

Who: Allen Hurns, Jacksonville Jaguars
What: Concussion
Impact: Cecil Shorts busted out and perhaps he can get it going now. Allen Robinson also gets an increase in value.

Tight end

Who: Delanie Walker, Tennessee Titans
What: Concussion
Impact: He is likely going to sit in Week 11. The Titans do not have a reliable backup, and third-down back Dexter McCluster also went down. Kendall Wright should be huge this week.

Older injuries

Quarterback

Who: Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles
What: Could miss the rest of the season
Impact: Mark Sanchez will be at the helm and is worth a look in standard leagues.

Who: Matt Cassel, Minnesota Vikings
What: Out indefinitely with a broken foot
Impact: Teddy Bridgewater has really only played three good halves in six games, so it's pretty clear the fantasy value won't be there.

Running back

Who: Giovani Bernard, Cincinnati Bengals
What
: Missed Weeks 9 and 10
Impact
: Jeremy Hill should be owned in all leagues after a massive Week 9.

Who: Arian Foster, Houston Texans
What: He is dealing with a groin issue and could miss time
Impact: He can't stay healthy, and it'll be Alfred Blue should Foster miss time. Blue is worth a look in all leagues. The Texans are coming off a Week 10 bye.

Who: Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What
: A sprained ankle kept him from playing on Sunday
Impact
: The Bucs gave Charles Sims a look, but he ran for only 23 yards on a team-leading eight carries in Week 10.

Who: C.J. Spiller, Buffalo Bills
What: Spiller broke his collarbone and is expected to be out for the season
Impact: Fred Jackson didn't look great in his return, but he should be owned in all leagues.

Who: Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints
What: Suffered a shoulder injury in Week 7 and has been out since
Impact: It's Mark Ingram's world.

Who: Stevan Ridley, New England Patriots
What: Out for season with knee injury
Impact: Shane Vereen is playing well, but this team will be pass-happy.

Who: Rashad Jennings, New York Giants
What: Suffered a knee sprain and has been out since Week 5
Impact: Andre Williams should be in the lineup for the next week at the minimum.

Who: Montee Ball, Denver Broncos
What: Expected to return from groin injury this week
Impact: Ronnie Hillman went down, so make sure Ball is owned.

Who: Danny Woodhead and Ryan Mathews, San Diego Chargers
What: Woodhead is out for the season with a broken fibula; Mathews is still not practicing but could return soon
Impact: Branden Oliver is a must-start back despite the Chargers looking awful in Week 9. They're coming off a bye.

Wide receivers

Who: Brian Quick, St. Louis Rams
What: A shoulder injury will keep him out for the rest of the season
Impact: He was the best receiving option, so now the team will have to turn to Kenny Britt and Stedman Bailey. They looked terrible in Week 10 and Bailey didn't receive a single target, so the winner looks to be Jared Cook.

Who: Victor Cruz, New York Giants
What: Out for season with knee injury
Impact: Odell Beckham looks terrific and he's passed Rueben Randle.

Who: Rod Streater, Oakland Raiders
What: Out indefinitely with fractured foot
Impact: Andre Holmes and James Jones have been disappointing.

Tight end

Who: Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns
What: A concussion kept him out against the Bucs in Week 9
Impact: He's not a must-own player anymore.

Who: Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings
What: Likely out one more week with groin injury
Impact: He is worth a look if you're desperate.

Who: Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals
What: Not expected to return until Week 11 with elbow injury
Impact: Jermaine Gresham hasn't lived up to the first-round billing.
