The easy thing to say after Devonta Freeman’s 193-yard, three-touchdown Week 3 was that it was his career game, and he’d never do it again. Freeman took all of a week to do it again, as he put up 149 yards and another three scores in Week 4 in the Falcons’ 48-21 win over the Houston Texans, leading the way for Atlanta to go to 4-0.
Devonta Freeman has 2nd career game in a row for Falcons, fantasy owners
The Atlanta running back has looked like the best player in the league for two weeks now.

Freeman, who started the season as the team’s No. 2 running back behind the now-injured Tevin Coleman, now has 252 rushing yards, 196 receiving yards and seven touchdowns through four games. It’s insanely good production for a player who had only 473 yards and two scores through all of 2014 as a rookie. He’s been a monster.
Fantasy impact: Coleman is due back sooner rather than later, perhaps as soon as Week 5. One week of great performance might not have been enough for Freeman to fully unseat Coleman as the starter, but this has to do it.
Until further notice, consider Freeman the team’s sure starter, with Coleman likely to return as a change-of-pace back. Freeman won’t continue to put up these numbers, because no one possibly could, but he’s certainly skyrocketed up the running back rankings. The Falcons host Washington in Week 5, and that team does have a competent run defense, but Freeman has to be a starter.
