NFL playoff odds 2015, Week 8: Bengals have a chance to run away with the AFC North

If the Steelers can’t beat the Bengals in Week 8, Cincinnati will have zero competition en route to an AFC North crown.

The New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers are still the teams to beat and the favorites to meet in the Super Bowl, according to the postseason odds from Football Outsiders.

In the latest edition of the playoff odds, the Patriots were listed as having a 23 percent chance at a victory in Super Bowl 50, but a demolition of the Miami Dolphins on Thursday is likely to boost those odds after Week 8. They entered the week just a hair behind the Packers, who are listed with a 23.1 percent chance at a Lombardi Trophy.

While the Minnesota Vikings are 4-2, the Packers have a 99.6 percent chance at the playoffs and could only bolster their odds at winning it all with a win over the 6-0 Denver Broncos. Despite the undefeated start, Peyton Manning has struggled for the Broncos and the team is No. 7 in Super Bowl odds with only a 3.8 percent chance at winning.

Still, the Broncos are one of five division leaders with a more than 90 percent chance at making the playoffs, with the Arizona Cardinals just a half percentage away from being the sixth team. The Cardinals have a 72.4 percent chance at winning the NFC West and 89.5 percent of making the postseason after climbing to 5-2 while no other team in the division enters Week 8 with a winning record.

While no game features better records than the duel of the unbeatens on Sunday Night Football, a AFC North battle between the 6-0 Cincinnati Bengals and 4-3 Pittsburgh Steelers could be the last chance for a competitive division. The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens have three wins combined, so a rally by the Steelers with the return of Ben Roethlisberger is the only chance that the Bengals don't cruise to the divisional crown.

The Steelers have a 43.5 percent chance at the playoffs after a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs dropped the team to 4-3 in Week 7. No other team in the AFC has postseason odds between 31 and 83 percent, so the Steelers are one of the only remaining toss-up teams.

In the NFC, the entire NFC East is a toss-up, with no team's playoff chances over 50 percent. The New York Giants lead the division with a 4-3 record, but have just a 47.3 percent chance at the playoffs and a 42.3 percent chance at winning the NFC East with the other teams all hot on their heels. Both Washington and the Philadelphia Eagles are 3-4 and on bye in Week 8, so the Giants have the chance to open their division lead up, but that could be tough in a road game against the New Orleans Saints.

At the NFL's cellar are the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns, the only three teams with a less-than-one percent chance at the playoffs.

With 10 weeks left to play, these are the current favorites to win the Super Bowl, according to Football Outsiders:

No. Team Super Bowl win
1 Green Bay Packers 23.1 percent
2 New England Patriots 23.0 percent
3 Cincinnati Bengals 16.8 percent
4 Arizona Cardinals 15.2 percent
5 Carolina Panthers 6.1 percent
