If you are considering this advice, congratulations, you are likely in your fantasy football league’s championship game! The waiver wire has likely been picked mostly clean at this point, but there are still a few options for you. Here are some tight ends to consider if you need some championship game help.
Fantasy football waiver wire: 5 tight ends to target for Week 16
Zach Ertz has been hot and could be a difference maker for a lot of fantasy owners.
Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles (owned in 54 percent of leagues)
He caught a 22-yard score and is finally starting to heat up. Ertz led the Eagles in receiving yards in Week 14 and put up 87 yards on Sunday to go with his one score. He gets a great matchup this week against Washington, so he will be a TE1.
Will Tye, New York Giants (owned in 10 percent of leagues)
He had another really strong game against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 with 43 yards and one score during the loss. The Giants won't be getting Larry Donnell back for the rest of the season, so Tye will be the main tight end going forward.
He doesn't have a great matchup on the horizon against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16, though.
Zach Miller, Chicago Bears (owned in 0 percent of leagues)
He caught all six of his targets on Sunday despite having an illness. Miller has really become a reliable option for Jay Cutler and had a five-catch, 85-yard game in Week 14. Miller gets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week and could be a top-10 option, especially with Alshon Jeffery banged up.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (owned in 35.7 percent of leagues)
Speaking of the Buccaneers, ASJ has been a lot better and might finally be healthy. He caught six passes for 29 yards in a loss to the Rams. He was out for much of the season, but was able to return back on Dec. 6.
He gets a great matchup against the Bears this week and should be a top-12 TE option.
Jared Cook, St. Louis Rams (owned in 4.9 percent of leagues)
He was targeted six times on Thursday and caught four passes for 64 yards. He's a risky play against the Seattle Seahawks for Week 16, so only give him a look in two-TE leagues.
