We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving, NFL fans. Week 12 of the NFL is here, and Turkey Day already gave you some good football. For some players, though, this week hasn’t been that great.
Tom Brady, Mark Ingram and the most impactful injuries for Week 12 of the NFL
Even a Thanksgiving meal couldn’t get some guys healthy enough for Sunday.

Seattle safety Earl Thomas will miss the first game of his NFL career Sunday thanks to a hamstring injury. It snaps his streak of 118 consecutive games played, which is dang impressive.
Luke Kuechly is out for the Panthers after last week’s scary concussion against the New Orleans Saints, and Cincinnati’s A.J. Green is out after a hamstring injury he suffered against the Bills.
Other players around the league are uncertain going into Week 12, with some showing more promise than others for Sunday.
1) Tom Brady & Rob Gronkowski vs. Jets
There’s no question that this combination had to be our No. 1 for the week. Brady and Gronk are one of the best quarterback-receiving tandems in the NFL. Yes, the Jets aren’t a good football team, but even in the Patriots best years, the Jets have found ways to give them a game.
Status: Both are active, but Gronk later left in the first half with a back injury.
2) Marcus Peters vs. Broncos
Peters is dealing with the same hip injury that had him questionable, and ultimately out, for last week’s game against the Buccaneers. Against a Broncos team that hasn’t been exactly scary on offense, it might not hurt as bad, but it’s still a pivotal game.
A win over the Broncos would put the Chiefs a game ahead of them and help them, at the very worst, keep pace with the Raiders, who are ahead by a game in the AFC West. Peters back on the field would greatly increase those chances.
Status: He’s playing.
3) Brandon Albert & Laremy Tunsil vs. 49ers
The Dolphins are coming off one of the ugliest wins you’ll see this season by any team. All but one of their first 11 possessions was a punt, and that one was an interception. Their last two drives were touchdowns, giving them a 14-10 win over the Rams.
With that said, it looks like they could be missing tackle Brandon Albert on Sunday.
Albert is dealing with a wrist injury. The Dolphins’ offensive line, which struggled through the first five games of the season, is already missing Mike Pouncey and Laremy Tunsil is nursing a shoulder injury.
Status: Both are out.
4) Desmond Trufant vs. Cardinals
Update: Trufant is having shoulder surgery, according to Adam Schefter, and it’s season-ending.
The Falcons corner has one interception on the year, and in a defense that’s already 32nd in the league against the pass, it could end up being a long Sunday afternoon for the Falcons with Trufant out.
Trufant’s absence would really open things up for the Cardinals offense. If Trufant isn’t able to play, look for Carson Palmer to go out of his way to find Larry Fitzgerald and offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin to create mismatches.
Status: Done for the year.
5) Timmy Jernigan vs. Bengals
Jernigan was questionable last week with a shoulder injury, and he’s on the injury report yet again. He’s had a good season on one of the league’s best defenses, and the Ravens having him Sunday would help them get pressure on Andy Dalton, who will be without A.J. Green.
Jernigan was limited in practice on Thanksgiving, which is a good sign that he was even out there. It seems like this injury might be something that’s more lingering than anything, but with the rigors of an NFL season, you can never be sure of the severity.
Status: He’ll play.
6) LeSean McCoy & Mike Gillislee vs. Jaguars
McCoy is expected to play with the thumb injury he suffered last Sunday and had surgery on during the week. However, Mike Gillislee, his backup, is ruled out for the game. And if something were to happen to McCoy, it could sneak up and hurt the Bills in a game they expect to win against the Jaguars.
Shady has had injury concerns during the season, and the way that he plays, it pretty much shows why. There’s a high risk, high reward with McCoy. The Bills will hope they get just enough out of him on Sunday.
Status: McCoy will play; Gillislee is out
7) Mark Ingram vs. Rams
Ingram has spent the week in concussion protocol, but he practiced all week on a limited basis, according to ESPN’s Mike Triplett.
Triplett added that on Wednesday, Ingram insisted he would play this week and that he had not experienced any concussion-like symptoms. An update was not available later in the week as he did not speak to the media on Friday.
Status: He’s expected to play.
8) Josh Sitton vs. Titans
The Chicago Bears have had such a rough season when it comes to injuries. They will likely be starting Matt Barkley this Sunday for an injured Jay Cutler, and Barkley could be without an important piece on the line in Sitton.
The Titans defense hasn’t been extremely scary this season, but the Bears would just like to catch a break on the injury front at this point. Right now, the Bears are better off playing for a draft pick.
Status: He’s out.
9) Gino Gradkowski vs. Raiders
Gradkowski is the backup to the Panthers’ starting center Ryan Kalil, who has already been ruled out with a shoulder injury. The Panthers have had issues keeping Cam Newton upright this season and losing a second center would hurt.
The chemistry before the snap between the quarterback and center is important as well. If Gradkowski, who is considered a formidable replacement for Kalil, is out, that could be a big loss for a Panthers team that pretty much needs to win out.
Status: He’s active.
10) Jason Pierre-Paul vs. Browns
Pierre-Paul is coming off a week in which he won Stephen White’s Hoss of the Week. He gave his team a game it had long been looking for, and he came up big. He’s been dealing with a sore knee this week, and it’s put his status up in the air.
The injury doesn’t appear like it will be very impactful with JPP expecting to play and the fact that the Giants are also playing the 0-11 Cleveland Browns. It seems unlikely the Giants will struggle with or without Pierre-Paul, but sometimes the NFL can surprise you.
Status: He’s active.
